Are my receipt photos uploaded to a server?
No. Photos, the text read from them and your table are processed entirely inside your browser and never sent to any server. The only download is the text recognition model the first time you use it. There is no request that uploads your photos. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an account, and does it cost anything?
No account is needed. Just open the page and start. The tool is free and supported by advertising.
How many photos can I add at once?
Up to 30 at a time. If you have more, use "Add photos" after extraction finishes, and the new rows are added below your existing table.
Which photo formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WEBP and iPhone HEIC photos. Photos from Android phones (JPG or HEIF) work as they are. On a phone, tapping the upload area lets you take a photo with the camera or choose from your photo library.
What does it read? Does it list items?
It reads three things: the date, the store and the total. It doesn't extract individual items, which keeps the table short and quick to check.
What do the yellow cells mean?
They're values the reader wasn't sure about or couldn't find. Click the thumbnail to see the photo larger while you fix them. Once you edit a cell, the yellow goes away, and adding more photos later never overwrites your edits.
Recognition keeps getting things wrong.
Photo quality matters most. Flatten the receipt, place it on a dark background and shoot straight on without shadows. For long receipts, fold the item list away so the store, date and total are large in one photo. The photo tips guide has more detail.
The first extraction is slow.
The first run downloads the text recognition model, which takes extra time. The model is saved in your browser, so later visits start faster. Large or many photos can still take a few seconds each, depending on your device.
Which page should I use for Korean receipts?
Use the Korean page. It reads both Korean and English, while the English page reads English only so it loads faster. Korean receipts added on the English page won't have their store names read correctly.
Can I save my table and continue later?
No. Photos and table contents aren't stored in your browser, so they're gone when you refresh or close the page. Download the Excel file when you're done. You'll see a warning if you try to leave without downloading.
The dates look odd in Excel.
Dates in the downloaded file are real Excel date cells. If a date shows as #####, widen the column. If it shows as a number, change the cell format to a date. Dates the tool couldn't interpret are kept as the text you typed.
Can I open the file in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the .xlsx file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Dates, amounts and the total formula carry over.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. You can choose photos, fix the table and download the Excel file from a mobile browser. On phones, photos are read one at a time to limit heat and battery use, so it can be a little slower than on a computer.
